Russian troops receive 15,000 tons of ammo, fuel per day in Ukraine operation — Shoigu

The Russian defense minister stressed the importance of tasks tackled by industry

MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. Russian troops receive 10,000-15,000 metric tons of ammunition and fuel per day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu told the upper house of parliament on Monday.

At Shoigu’s invitation, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko and the Council’s Defense and Security Committee held a visiting session at the Defense Ministry. The defense chief drew the senators’ attention to the scope of objectives accomplished by Russian troops in the area of the special military operation in Ukraine.

"Just to understand the scope, we supply 1,500 metric tons of potable water alone to the armed forces every day. We launder about 350 metric tons of clothes per day. That is, you have to understand that all this does not take place in just one locality. This takes place along the huge frontline, which extends over 1,000 km.," Shoigu said.

As the Russian defense chief pointed out, "naturally, it is necessary to manage all these processes, supplying up to 10,000 metric tons and sometimes up to 15,000 metric tons of various materials to the armed forces every day."

"These are ammunition and fuel and all that is related to equipment repair and maintenance," Shoigu said.

The Russian defense minister also stressed the importance of tasks tackled by industry.

"We cannot but say what our industry and industry in regions do. We can give a lot of examples, very bright examples of young people with no relation to the defense industry setting up and boosting production within just a month," Shoigu said.

Upon the end of the visiting session, Federation Council Speaker Matviyenko thanked the defense minister for the joint work, highlighting the meeting’s constructive nature.
