Putin updates concept of international development state promotion policy

According to the new wording, one of the principles of Russia’s state policy is "rejection of attempts to impose political conditions for the provision of assistance, and respect for the right of the recipient states to independently choose a model of socio-economic development, taking into account the characteristics of each of these states"

MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to amend the concept of Russia’s state policy in the field of assistance to international development concerning relations with developing countries.

According to the new wording, uploaded to the official Internet portal of legal information on Monday, one of the principles of Russia’s state policy is "rejection of attempts to impose political conditions for the provision of assistance, and respect for the right of the recipient states to independently choose a model of socio-economic development, taking into account the characteristics of each of these states." Previously, there was no such provision in the concept. The corresponding paragraph stipulated targeted assistance and the desire for dialogue.

The clause stipulating that Russia’s state policy is aimed at strengthening the equality and democratization of the system of international relations is clarified. The new wording underscores the strengthening of the recipient states’ own potential, which is necessary for their "transition to self-sufficiency and self-sufficient development."

Moscow's striving for a democratic world order is reflected in other paragraphs. According to one of them, Russia’s goals are "stronger international peace, universal security and stability and support for the international community's desire for the sustainable development of all states in the interests of establishing a just democratic world order", which will also contribute to the creation of favorable external conditions for itself.
