Russia maintains friendly ties with both Palestine and Israel — senior diplomat

MOSCOW, February 26. /TASS/. Despite the growing international tensions, Russia maintains friendly relations both with Palestine and Israel, Russian presidential envoy for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said in an interview with TASS.

"Despite the aggravated international situation, Russia preserves its major asset - friendly and constructive relations with Palestine and Israel, and will all countries of the region we have been maintaining regular dialogue with on a wide range of issues, including on the Palestinian-Israeli settlement," he said.

According to Bogdanov, Middle East and North African countries trust Moscow’s foreign policy course and "know firmly that Russia is committed to its principles approaches to the regional agenda," which are based on "the universally recognized legal platform, first of all on the corresponding United Nations Security Council resolutions".
