Russia generally positive about Zaporozhye NPP security zone idea — diplomat

But Moscow needs more information about the details, Mikhail Ulyanov said

UNITED NATIONS, November 15. /TASS/. Russia is generally positive about the idea of creating a security zone around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (NPP), but needs more information about the details, Russian Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov told reporters on Tuesday.

"The idea of a protection zone or a security zone is not bad by itself, since it implies that you can’t shoot from the station and you can’t shoot at the station," Ulyanov said, answering a question from TASS. "Moscow is not one to object to that, since the Zaporozhye NPP is being shelled by Ukrainians on a regular basis. It would be fine to agree that such moves are unacceptable."

"However, there is a wide range of details that still need to be clarified in the process of consultations," the Russian diplomat added.
