No signs of readiness for US-Russia global dialogue — Russian diplomat

Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky stressed that Russia "closes the door on no one" and is always ready for a conversation

MOSCOW, November 1. /TASS/. There are no signs that the United States and Russia are ready to discuss global matters, Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky said on Tuesday.

"The atmosphere here is quite heated, tense and so far, I see no signs that the countries are ready to speak about global matters," he said in an interview with the Rossiya-1 television channel.

The diplomat stressed that Russia "closes the door on no one" and is always ready for a conversation. "I don’t rule out that at some point, they (US representatives - TASS) will approach us with some proposal. Naturally, we will not turn it down, I mean [a proposal] to meet and speak about anything," he added.

The White House said earlier on Tuesday that the United States wants to settle the conflict in Ukraine through talks but will continue to help Kiev make progress on the battlefield.
