Russian troops deliver more than 60 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Izyum in Kharkov region

Families with children were provided with the necessary assistance in the first place

MOSCOW, April 8. /TASS/. The Russian military delivered more than 60 tonnes of humanitarian aid to those residents of the town of Izyum in the Kharkov region in need, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Accompanied by the Russian military police, this humanitarian aid totaling over 60 tonnes was delivered on trucks to those residents of the city and its surroundings in need," the ministry said.

It stressed that the local residents, being without communication, light, heat and essential commodities, had been waiting for this humanitarian aid for several days.

"Families with children were provided with the necessary assistance in the first place. The population was given basic necessities and food packages. The entire humanitarian cargo was distributed and handed over to residents in need," the ministry said.
