Russian army evacuates 11,500 from high-risk areas in Ukraine, DPR, LPR

MOSCOW, May 3. /TASS/. The Russian army has evacuated 11,564 civilians from high-risk areas of Ukraine and the Donetsk and Lugansk republics, the chief of Russia’s national defense command center, Mikhail Mizintsev, said on Tuesday.

"In defiance of the obstructions being created by Kiev a total of 11,564 people, including 1,571 children, have been evacuated from high-risk areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics and Ukraine to Russia over the past day," said Mizintsev, who leads the inter-departmental coordination center for humanitarian response in Ukraine.

Mizintsev said that since the beginning of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine a total of 1,103,701 people (including 197,927 children) had been evacuated to Russia. A total of 197,927 motor vehicles have crossed the Russian border from Ukraine, including 1,928 over the past day.
