MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Instagram and Facebook social networks (banned in Russia due to their ownership by Meta, which has been labeled as extremist) must comply to the local laws to be unblocked, Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"No matter how much trust we have with the Americans, it will not excuse anyone from adhering to Russian laws," Peskov said in a comment to the Yunashev Live telegram channel.
"Actually, these companies may not wait for the restoration of trust. We must follow the laws and return to the Russian Federation."
Peskov also noted that YouTube, whose work was previously slowed down, must comply with Russian laws.
"This is (compliance with the laws TASS) applies to everyone, of course," he said.
