Fur design international winter school opens in Yakutsk

The school participants are students from Yakutia, Tatarstan and Mongolia

YAKUTSK, December 11. /TASS/. Participants in the Magic Fur international winter school of the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts will design about 50 fur products, the school's curator Professor Antonina Romanova told TASS.

"The lectures and master classes will focus on the cultural code in design and traditional arts, on fur processing technologies, and on making fur products, as well as on marketing," she said. "The students in five teams will develop about 50 sketches of fur clothing and accessories, including five products for our industrial partner, the Sahabult Corporation."

The school participants are students from Yakutia, Tatarstan and Mongolia. "They will have classes in artificial intelligence, and the best projects will have 3D models," the curator added.

The Sahabult Company and the winter school students presented fur products, national costumes and accessories during the opening ceremony.

The winter school is supported by the North world-class scientific and educational center. The Sahabult Company was established in 1992. It is Russia's only factory that processes deer skins and the only leather processing enterprise in the Far East.
