Belarus suggests discussing restrictions planned by EU in FAO

MINSK, April 5. /TASS/. Belarus has suggested discussing restrictions on imports of foods from Belarus and Russia planned by the European Union within the framework of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), said the Belarusian embassy in Rome, where FAO is headquartered.

"In connection with new restrictions planned to be introduced by the European Union on free trade in foods, animal feed and raw materials for their production, the Republic of Belarus addressed member-countries of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations with the call to condemn the egoistic and careless sanction policy of the EU and also suggested discussing this problem at the coming meeting of the FAO Council.
