MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Russia has the potential to double gas exports by 2050 compared to the figure from 2023, according to from the most likely scenario for the development of global energy, prepared by the Russian Energy Agency.
According to the scenario, by 2050, Russia's gas exports will reach 313.9 bln cubic meters per year. At the same time, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak predicted that Russian pipeline gas exports would reach 99.6 bln cubic meters in 2023, with LNG accounting for 45.4 bln cubic meters, bringing the total supply to 145 bln cubic meters.
According to the less realistic scenario, which entails a rapid introduction of new technologies in the energy sector and the implementation of global energy transition plans, Russian gas exports in 2050 could reach 89.1 bln cubic meters, which is 1.6 times lower than the 2023 level.
According to the rational scenario, oil exports might rise from 234.3 mln tons in 2023 to 268.5 mln tons in 2050. At the same time, "Net zero" scenario suggests a decline to 110.2 mln tons.
At the same time, the Russian Energy Agency also prepared a third scenario for the development of world energy, more optimistic for Russia, but no export data was provided for it.
