Annual inflation speeding up to 5.8% in Belarus — statistics

According to statistics, prices hiked 1.5% for foods, 0.1% for nonfoods, and 0.8% for services in December 2023

MINSK, January 10. /TASS/. Annual inflation in Belarus accelerated to 5.8% against 5.4% as of the end of November, the Belarusian National Statistical Committee said on its website.

"The consumer price index for goods and services in December 2023 stood at 100.9% against November 2023 and 105.8% as compared to December 2022," the committee said.

According to statistics, prices hiked 1.5% for foods, 0.1% for nonfoods, and 0.8% for services in December 2023. The rise in prices against December 2022 totaled 6.8% for foods, 2.9% for nonfoods, and 8.1% for services.
