India greenlights Russian wool, animal feed for first time — official

India has approved veterinary certificates for three new commodities from Russia - sheep’s wool, animal skins and animal feed, meaning the actual opening of the Indian market for Russian goods, an official of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying told TASS.

Such a decision was the result of more than five years of negotiations between the two countries, he said. "Talks with the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the Russian Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service were held for more than five years and on some issues for more than seven years. Now, it will be possible to supply animal feed from Russia, although not for cats and dogs. Along with sheep’s wool and goat’s fine hair, rawhide," he added.

"The Russian side and Russian businessmen have long shown great interest in coming here to India with such goods.
