Minsk, Moscow to collectively counter ‘mad’ sanctions — Belarusian PM

Belarus and Russia are successfully developing mutual trade, strengthening production ties and creating new shipping and supply chains

MOSCOW, October 3. /TASS/. Belarus and Russia are successfully resisting western sanctions owing to measures taken timely and together, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said on Monday during talks with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin.

"The intensity of communication at all levels confirm the interest in supporting the required evolution and more active bilateral relations and promptly working out concerted approaches to counter the rampant external pressure. We are able to oppose these mad sanctions aimed at destroying our states only owing to joint efforts," the Belarusian Prime Minister said.

Belarus and Russia are successfully developing mutual trade, strengthening production ties and creating new shipping and supply chains under difficult conditions, Golovchenko noted. The bilateral trade turnover is expected "to be above the historical peak and will amount to about $45 bln or maybe even more," he said. "These results show that we have chosen the right strategy to replace the products of foreign producers, who have ceased to supply goods to our countries," the official added.
