Russian imports to Japan down 26% in 2020

Export of Japanese goods to Russia also dropped - by 19.8%

TOKYO, January 21. /TASS/. Import of Russian goods to Japan decreased by 26.6% in 2020 compared with 2019 amid the pandemic, according to the figures released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance on Thursday.

Russian imports amounted to around $11 bln. Export of Japanese goods to Russia also dropped - by 19.8% to $6.06 bln.

Energy resources remained the main item of import from Russia to Japan, whereas Japan mainly supplies cars, components, machinery and equipment to the Russian market.
