Ukraine's military intelligence chief identified as organizer of drone attacks on Russia

They have been charged in absentia and placed on the wanted list

MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Russia's Investigative Committee has identified Kirill Budanov, the head of Ukraine's military intelligence, as one of the organizers of Ukrainian drone attacks on the Russian regions, the agency's press service told TASS.

"According to investigators, among the organizers of Ukrainian drone attacks on the Kursk Region and other regions of Russia were Head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov, Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Nikolay Oleshchuk, and Commander of the Ukrainian Naval Forces Alexey Neizhpapa," the press service said following an operational meeting held by Investigative Committee Head Alexander Bastrykin in Kursk.

They have been charged in absentia and placed on the wanted list.

The agency added that Russian investigators are conducting a legal evaluation of actions of those involved in strikes on civilian infrastructure using Western operational-tactical missile systems. The Investigative Committee reported that Rostislav Karpusha, commander of the 19th Missile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was charged in absentia in one of these criminal cases.
