DONETSK, February 20. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military is using foreign-made gas grenades in Donbass in violation of any international treaties on conventional warfare, Yan Gagin, military-political expert and adviser to the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), told TASS on Monday.
"The enemy has been trying to use the chemical component since the conflict began in 2014: it defies any rules," he stressed.
"Most frequently, they are using gas grenades. Even the markings can be seen: either the United States or Great Britain or Israel. Such attempts have been observed and some fighters have received injuries on the Artyomovsk frontline," Gagin said.
There were instances last summer when the Kiev regime’s troops tried to use toxic aerosols, spraying them from agricultural quadcopters along the frontline, the adviser said.
"There have been no instances of using such chemical agents against civilians yet but I believe that they will stop at nothing," he stressed.
The Ukrainian side violates all international conventions on warfare and, in particular, employs cluster munitions like flechettes and Lepestok anti-personnel mines in cities where civilians live, the adviser said.
"Moreover, children or the elderly step on Lepestok mines most frequently. There have also been instances of using phosphorous bombs. There are also a lot of foreign-made banned munitions there," he pointed out.
