Ukrainian artillery is focused on residential areas in DPR — legislator

It is reported that since Tuesday morning, the Ukrainian forces have shelled the DPR’s communities 30 times

MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. The Ukrainian army in carrying out artillery strikes on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic has completely switched to shelling residential areas, a member of the DPR’s legislature, Lieutenant-Colonel of the DPR people's militia Andrey Bayevsky, said on Tuesday.

"Today, almost all shells are fired in the direction of a certain community. The areas of private households are being destroyed. The central urban area of Gorlovka is being shelled. Residential areas and infrastructure are the main targets. No military purposes, such as fire adjustment on the frontline, are pursued," he said on Russia’s TV Channel One. Bayevsky noted that usually the Ukrainian artillery crews fired several shells from one position in a minute or two and then quickly left it.

As the allied forces push forward near Donetsk, Gorlovka and Yasinovataya have become the most attacked areas, whereas just recently the republic’s capital was hit most frequently.

"There have been certain changes in the enemy’s artillery fire tactics being used against Donetsk and Makeyevka. This is a direct effect of the advance in the areas of these communities. The focus of bombardments has changed. Before, two-thirds of the shells the enemy fired a day crashed on the Kievsky, Kuibyshevsky and Kirovsky districts of areas of Donetsk. Today, the worst bombardments are against Gorlovka and Yasinovataya," he said.

According to the DPR’s office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine, since Tuesday morning, the Ukrainian forces have shelled the DPR’s communities 30 times.
