MOSCOW, March 16. /TASS/. The Russian armed forces knocked out of action communications, reconnaissance, retransmission and switching nodes in Vinnitsa with a strike of high-precision long-range weapons, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said.
"High-precision long-range weapons struck military infrastructure in Ukraine on the morning of March 16," he said. "As a result, communication, reconnaissance, retransmission and switching nodes in Vinnitsa were put out of action."
He also said that Russian air force and air defense shot down one Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopter in the area of Sarana and six drones during the day.
According to Konashenkov, operational, tactical, army and unmanned aircraft hit 34 military targets of Ukraine over the past day, including one multiple launch rocket system, three command posts, one electronic warfare station, seven ammunition depots and 19 clusters of military equipment.
Since the beginning of the special military operation, the Russian armed forces have destroyed a total of 180 aircraft and helicopters, 166 unmanned aerial vehicles, 1,367 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 132 multiple launch rocket systems, 502 field artillery guns and mortars, and 1,156 special military vehicles of the Ukrainian armed forces.
