Iran grateful to Russia for proposal to take enriched uranium — top diplomat

Abbas Araghchi also said that Iran is thankful to Russia for its intention to help the resolution of this problem

NEW DELHI, May 15. /TASS/. Tehran is thankful to Moscow for its proposal to take enriched Iranian uranium and the desire to help, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi said at a news conference in New Delhi.

"We are thankful to our Russian friends for their offer and for their intention to help the resolution of this problem," he said.

When asked if he had discussed the issue was his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, at the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ meeting in the Indian capital, the Iranian foreign minister replied that the Islamic Republic has always consulted with its Russian friends.

"We have very good relations [with Russia], strategic partnership and we have always consulted with each other regarding all international, regional and bilateral issues," Araghchi noted.
