MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. The governing bodies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have revised the group’s policies regarding the smooth transit of troops and the flights of military aircraft, CSTO Joint Staff Spokesman Vladislav Shchegrikovich told TASS.
He recalled that a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers, and the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils was held in Astana under the Kazakh chairmanship.
"In accordance with the priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approaches to ensuring uninterrupted, non-stop transit of contingents and military aircraft flights have been updated. Amendments to the Agreement on the status of the forces and means of the collective security system formations of the CSTO and the Agreement on cooperation in the field of transportation of military and other formations, their movable property, as well as military products, are being implemented," the spokesman stated.
He also noted that the attendees of the meeting drew special attention to the further development of the forces and means of the collective security system. "The principles of training and deployment of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force have been agreed upon. A number of other agreements aimed at enhancing the collective security of the CSTO member states were reached as a result of the joint meeting," the spokesman of the Joint Staff emphasized.
