Israel reports eliminating most of Hezbollah arms production sites near Beirut

The statement noted that "over the years, the Intelligence Directorate has developed a situational assessment of the locations of Hezbollah terror infrastructure in the area"

TEL AVIV, November 13. /TASS/. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced that it had already eliminated most of the Lebanon-based Shiite party Hezbollah’s weapons production facilities in the vicinity of Beirut.

"Over the past 20 years, the Hezbollah terrorist organization has established dozens of weapons production sites and storage facilities in the heart of the Dahieh district, the organization’s governing stronghold," the army press service said in a statement. According to it, "these sites, systematically concealed beneath civilian buildings, have produced and stored hundreds of missiles and rockets intended to inflict significant harm on the State of Israel."

The statement noted that "over the years, the Intelligence Directorate has developed a situational assessment of the locations of Hezbollah terror infrastructure in the area, and in recent weeks, IAF aircraft have carried out a series of strikes to dismantle them. During these strikes, multiple secondary explosions were identified, confirming the presence of weapons within the targeted infrastructure."

On September 23, Israel launched an offensive operation, dubbed Northern Arrows, targeting Hezbollah’s military facilities, carrying out massive air strikes across Lebanon. Overnight on October 1, the IDF announced a ground operation in borderline regions in Lebanon’s south.
