Turkey’s foreign minister calls for 'serious' search of path toward Russia-Ukraine talks

According to Hakan Fidan, the situation in Ukraine is "another reflection of the crisis in the international system"

ANTALYA, March 1. /TASS/. Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has called to step up efforts that could help to arrange talks between Russia and Ukraine, as he spoke at the opening of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

"The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is in its third year. At the current stage of the war, we need to seriously look for ways to bring the sides closer together and establish dialogue. We, Turkey, are more ready than ever to provide any assistance to arrange peace talks," Fidan said.

He added that "at the same time, Turkey is working to ensure the safety of navigation in the Black Sea and the safe transportation of grain."

According to the minister, the situation in Ukraine is "another reflection of the crisis in the international system."

"At a time when strong institutions and partnerships are needed, it is obvious that the international system is steadily weakening," he stated. "The current international order does not provide justice and equality to the world.".
