TOKYO, December 6. /TASS/. The G7 leaders condemned a surge in violence committed by extremist settlers against Palestinians in the region and called to hold them accountable, according to the G7 Leaders’ statement released after their virtual meeting.
"We condemn the rise in extremist settler violence committed against Palestinians, which undermines security and stability in the West Bank, and threatens prospects for a lasting peace. Those who have committed crimes must be held to account," the statement said.
In addition, the G7 called on regional actors to "cease destabilizing activities" in the Middle East. In particular, the G7 called "on Iran to refrain from providing support for Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and other non-state actors.".
