Belarus will have to react to US sanctions — Foreign Ministry

"It is very sad and disturbing when wrong decisions are made by such state as the United States," Anatoly Glaz said

MINSK, January 18. /TASS/. Belarus will have to come up with a response to recently introduced US sanctions, press secretary of the Foreign Ministry Anatoly Glaz told TASS on Wednesday.

"We will certainly have to react to this shortsighted and wrong move," the spokesman said.

Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said Washington had imposed visa restrictions on 25 people for their alleged involvement in "undermining democracy" in Belarus. Following presidential elections in Belarus 2020, the U.S. Department of State introduced visa restrictions in respect of 322 individuals in total.

"It is very sad and disturbing when wrong decisions are made by such state as the United States," the press secretary added.
