Russian envoy leaves session of UNSC on Ukraine during speech by head of European Council

No other details were provided

UNITED NATIONS, June 6. /TASS/. Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya left a session of the UN Security Council on Ukraine during a speech by Head of the European Council Charles Michel on Monday, a TASS correspondent reported.

The Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations confirmed this fact without details.

Michel who attended the session in person condemned the actions of Russian servicemen in Ukraine. Earlier, in his address, the Russian envoy refuted such accusations.

The practice, when a country’s permanent representative leaves a Security Council session after his address and the country is then represented by one of his deputies is widespread and usually is not a political gesture, yet not in this case. "The utmost degree of proof as presented by our Western and Ukrainian colleagues - ‘Russian soldiers are raping women everywhere.’ And that’s it. This is so obvious that nothing needs to be proven. Not even a single example was cited. Chairman of the European Council Charles Michel, also, contrary to facts, accused us of provoking a food crisis. He was speaking in such a brash and rude manner that Russia’s permanent representative left the room. It is simply stunning how the European Union and its leaders degraded," Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky commented on the situation on his Telegram channel.
