PARIS, April 13. /TASS/. The reshaping of the French government after the presidential election, the runoff of which will be held on April 24, will depend on the situation in Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron, who is running for a second term, said on the France 2 TV channel on Wednesday.
"It will depend on the international context," he said when asked whether a new French government will be appointed within 15 days of the election.
"Obviously, the cabinet needs to be renewed in order to go to the parliamentary elections afterwards," Macron noted, "But I must make a caveat. We have to make sure that in these 15 days there are no special circumstances related to Ukraine that would require quick decisions from the current government and parliament."
On April 10, the first round of presidential elections was held in France with a turnout of 73.69%. There were 12 candidates running for the highest state office. After counting 100% of the votes, Macron (27.84%) and his main rival, the National Rally leader Marine Le Pen (23.15%) entered the second round. The runoff election will take place on April 24.
