Six Russian long-distance drivers leave Ukraine with human rights commissioner’s help

According to Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova, a large number of Russian long-distance drivers are being held in Ukraine

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Six Russian long-distance drivers have been able to leave Ukraine through the mediation of Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova, she told reporters on Friday.

According to Moskalkova, a large number of Russian long-distance drivers are being held in Ukraine. At the same time, there are Ukrainian long-distance drivers in Russia.

"We agreed together with Ukrainian counterparts that some of them would be able to leave. I asked the Ukrainian counterparts and received understanding and support. So six Russian nationals, who are long-distance drivers, were given back their papers. And they left the checkpoint on the Ukrainian border with those documents," Moskalkova said.

"Six long-distance drivers were also able to set off home from [Russia]," she added.
