According to chief of Russia’s Federal Medical Biological Agency, the strictness of the self-isolation regime is subject to change with time as a person may develop psychological burnout after three weeks of being in a monotonous situation

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. The coronavirus epidemic in Russia is currently developing under one of the most favorable scenarios, Veronika Skvortsova, chief of Russia’s Federal Medical Biological Agency, said on Tuesday.

"So far, the epidemic in Russia is developing under one of the most favorable scenarios. To a larger extent, it is thanks that this scenario we are following was originally preemptive. We relied on the experience of other countries, including on their mistakes," she said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel.

According to Skvortsova, the strictness of the self-isolation regime is subject to change with time as a person may develop psychological burnout after three weeks of being in a monotonous situation. "Efforts are to be taken to avert psychological nuances that might be felt in self-isolation and which can lead to the regime breaches, flocking in groups otside," she noted.

As of April 7, a total of 7,497 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Russia. As many as 494 patients have recovered. According to data as of 10:30 Moscow time, fifty-eight patients died. Moscow accounts for the majority of cases (5,181). The Russian government set up an Internet hotline to keep the public informed about the coronavirus situation.
