MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. The Russian battlegroup East has foiled Ukrainian attempts to rotate and reinforce troops at forward positions in the areas of the Staromayorskoye, Ravnopol, Chervonoye and Lugovskoye settlements, said Alexander Gordeyev, a spokesman for the battlegroup.

"Units of the battle group East continue to carry out combat missions in the South Donetsk area. In the course of active operations, they repelled counterattacks by assault groups of the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade in the area of Novodonetskoye, destroyed an engineering group in the area of Charivnoye, and disrupted the enemy's attempts at reinforcement and rotation in the forward positions in the areas of Staromayorskoye, Ravnopol, Chervonoye and Lugovskoye," he said in a video that was posted to the Russian Defense Ministry's Telegram channel.

Gordeyev added that the group's bomber aviation strikes, artillery fire, and heavy flame-throwing systems hit strongpoints and personnel clusters of the 102nd and 128th Ukrainian territorial defense brigades in the areas of Malinovka, Urozhaynoye and Staromayorskoye.

He also said that over the past day Russian troops in this area destroyed up to 150 enemy servicemen, two armored personnel carriers, two motor vehicles, and six fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.
