Kremlin emphasizes understanding of Serbia’s decision to collaborate with NATO

It is reported that Moscow and Belgrade have maintained "a special relationship as partners"

MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/. Russia understands Serbia’s push to develop ties with NATO, given the amount of pressure Belgrade has constantly been under, said Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Commenting on Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s remark who said earlier this week that Belgrade was set to develop cooperation with the North Atlantic Alliance, while maintaining military neutrality, Peskov said: "We understand the situation around Serbia. Certainly, dialogue is the best way to improve relations. The Serbs have been having a tough time being under constant pressure."

According to the Russian presidential spokesman, Moscow and Belgrade have maintained "a special relationship as partners." "We do highly value them and will continue to develop [them]," Peskov emphasized.
