MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Moscow is watching with concern as the developments unfold in Israel, where large-scale protests erupted on Sunday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told TASS on Monday.
"We have been following [the situation], but certainly with concern. The most important thing is to avoid any problems for our compatriots there," emphasized Bogdanov, who is also Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa.
"We are watching [the situation], but let them deal with it on their own," he added.
Spontaneous protests erupted in Israel on Sunday evening after the country’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired his Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Netanyahu made the decision to sack Gallant after the latter openly supported suspending the judicial reforms being promoted by the ruling coalition, causing widespread opposition protests.
