MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. Msta-S self-propelled gun is efficiently engaged in Ukraine operation against hostile closed firing positions and troops, Rostec said.
"Russian artillery units precisely strike round-the-clock at hostile exposed objects, positions, fortifications, armor and troops. Rostec regularly ships the hardware in the framework of the arms procurement order," it said.
Msta-S is equipped with upgraded automatic guidance and fire control ASUNO-M system. The gun can operate in a fire assault regime. One gun can hit the target simultaneously with five shells and then abandon position at a cross-country speed of 60 km/h.
"Msta-S is constantly upgraded according to the experience of the military operation, increases firepower, precision and other parameters," Rostec said adding the Russian troops had received all Msta-S guns envisaged by the 2023 arms procurement order.
Industrial Director for armaments Bekhan Ozdoyev said Msta-S upgrade developed it into one of the best artillery guns in its class.
152mm Msta-SM destroys artillery and mortar batteries, armor, air and missile defense weapons, antitank arms and troops of the adversary. It fires 2A65 gun with a rate of 10 shots per minute from closed positions and pointblank to a distance of 20-29 km. The howitzer can fire smart Krasnopol shells. The maximum range is 24.7 km and the fuel distance is 500 km. One shells weighs 43.5 kg.
Msta-SM2 has upgraded fire and aiming controls, a bigger rate of fire, and uses electronic maps. The automatic equipment locks on and selects targets.
