CSTO countries ready to furnish support to ally in Caucasus — Chief of Staff

It is reported that certain plans have been developed

MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. The member-countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be ready, if necessary, to "extend a helping hand " to their ally in the Caucasus Armenia, the chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, told a news conference on Tuesday, when asked whether Armenia's decision not to host a CSTO exercise this year would affect the organization’s activities.

"If the situation suddenly requires the involvement of the forces and means of the collective security system in the Caucasus region, there is certain experience. Certain plans have been developed. The way I see it, the CSTO member-states will be ready to lend a helping hand to their ally in the Caucasus region," he said.
