MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. The process of traveling to safer regions by residents of the Kherson Region is voluntary, and there is no binding recommendation for local residents to leave the region, Vladimir Saldo, the acting governor of the Kherson Region, said on Friday.
"It’s not a binding recommendation. It’s a usual recommendation because a binding recommendation would be stating directly: ‘Take everything and leave.’ But there’s no need for that because life goes on. <...> That’s an absolutely voluntary matter," he said on Rossiya-24 television.
Saldo on Thursday appealed to the Russian leadership with a request to organize the departure of residents to safe regions because of daily missile strikes by Ukrainian troops.
