ABU DHABI, February 21. /TASS/. Russia’s Rostec state hi-tech corporation will showcase cutting-edge armaments and military equipment at the IDEX-2021 international defense exhibition, which will kick off on Sunday, the Rostec press service told reporters.
"IDEX is one of the world’s most significant international exhibitions where the Rostec corporation always features a broad range of cutting-edge developments. The Middle East and North African countries are vital markets for us, where we fulfill many projects both in civilian areas and in the field of military and technical cooperation," the press service of Rostec’s Director General Sergey Chemezov said.
According to the Rostec chief, Russia has been successfully fostering cooperation with the Middle East countries.
"We are supplying to the region our armored vehicles, air defense systems and many other types of military products. At the same time, we are registering a growing interest in our civilian innovations: civil aviation equipment, and digital technologies, for example, "smart" and "safe" city systems. Moreover, we see prospects in launching joint development and production of various goods - both military and civilian," Chemezov noted.
Russia’s innovations at exhibition
According to Rostec, during IDEX-2021 Russia will showcase its advanced weapons systems, including T-14 Armata tank, which is demonstrated as a model.
The exhibition also shows for the first time a new armored engineer vehicle UBIM, Pantsir-C1M anti-aircraft missile and gun system, amphibious armored personnel carrier BT-3 F, AK-19 assault rifle which uses NATO’s 5.56 mm caliber, and Haska-10 hovercraft.
The IDEX international weapons show is the largest in the Middle East, which is held once in two years in Abu Dhabi. This year it is taking place on February 21-25.
