Over 80% of Ukrainians favor holding peace talks with Russia, survey finds

56% of those surveyed believe that Ukraine should make territorial concessions and obtain Western security guarantees

MOSCOW, October 8. /TASS/. Overall, 83% of respondents in Ukraine are in favor of holding talks with Russia and negotiating a compromise with the participation of third countries, a survey conducted by Rating Group showed.

"The absolute majority views negotiations as a real way of putting an end to the war (57% of respondents say such a way would be to find a compromise involving third countries in negotiations, and 26% favor direct talks)," the Ukrainian pollster said in a press release on its website.

At that, Rating Group found, 56% of those surveyed believe that Ukraine should make territorial concessions and obtain Western security guarantees, while a mere 13% of respondents favor continued hostilities.

The telephone survey was conducted on October 3-5 among 1,000 adults aged 18 and older.
