French politician criticizes Zelensky over threats on May 9

Vladimir Zelensky rejected Putin's offer of a May 9 ceasefire, calling for a longer pause on his own terms and threatening to celebrate Victory Day in Moscow

MOSCOW, May 5. /TASS/. Florian Philippot, the leader of the French political party Les Patriotes, has called Vladimir Zelensky crazy over threats to heads of state who plan to take part in the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow on May 9.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to declare a ceasefire from 12:00 a.m. Moscow time on May 8 (9:00 p.m. GMT on May 7) to 12:00 a.m. Moscow time on May 11 (9:00 p.m. GMT on May 10) in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War. According to the Kremlin, "all hostilities will be suspended for this period." Vladimir Zelensky rejected the proposal, calling for a longer pause and on his own terms, and threatening Victory Day celebrations in Moscow.
