Russian-Chinese relations not aimed against third countries — top Chinese diplomat

BEIJING, March 7. /TASS/. China and Russia are developing relations that are not aimed against third countries and rule out confrontation, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

"Russia and China have found a model of co-existence, which is based on the principles of non-alignment and lack of confrontation, and is not directed against third countries," he said, answering to a question from TASS at a news conference.

"Solid and stable relations between Russia and China will not change overnight and will not be violated by third parties," he added.

In his opinion "comprehensive strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation" between Moscow and Beijing are "in line with the core interests of the two nations.

In his words, Russia and China will jointly defend the multilateral model of international affairs, based on the Charter of the United Nations.

"This year marks the 80th anniversary of victory in World War Two. <…> Both sides will take avail of the opportunity to jointly celebrate this pivotal event to <…> preserve the achievements of the Victory, [and] support the international system where the United Nations plays the key role, in order to encourage the world order to develop in a fairer and more rational direction," he said.
