Nearly 200 Palestinian aid vehicles enter Gaza since October 21

A total of 39 aid vehicles crossed the border with the Strip through the Rafah crossing on October 31, a Palestinian official said

CAIRO, October 31. /TASS/. As of today, about 200 trucks with humanitarian aid have entered the territory of the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing point located on the border with Egypt, a representative from the checkpoint’s administration on the Palestinian side said.

"A total of 39 aid vehicles crossed the border with the Strip through the Rafah crossing today," said a Palestinian official, as cited by the Al Hadath TV channel. He added that "a total of 196 trucks carrying emergency aid for the population have entered the enclave since October 21."

Some time ago, the Egyptian Red Crescent Society branch in the North Sinai Governorate informed that the international airport in the city of El-Arish in the Sinai Peninsula has received "60 cargo planes with 1,400 tons of humanitarian aid" for the people of Gaza since October 12.

Earlier, Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said that the obstacles created by Israel and its actions regarding the process of delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip make it difficult for it to reach the Palestinian enclave. He specified that "Egypt has spared no effort and will continue to do everything it can to make sure that relief aid is promptly brought into the Gaza Strip, but the obstacles created by Israel make it hard for humanitarian aid to get into the Palestinian enclave."

After the sharp escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Egypt asked the world community as well as regional and international organizations wishing to provide humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza to send it to El-Arish. As the Egyptian Foreign Ministry pointed out, Israeli bombardments are preventing the normal operation of the crossing. Egypt called on Israel to stop the shelling and expressed hope that the crossing would be used as a lifeline to support Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
