Official says about 5 mln residents of Donbass, southeastern Ukraine took refuge in Russia

As Nikolay Patrushev said, additional measures have been developed to protect Russians that suffered from Russophobia in unfriendly countries

MOSCOW, October 19. /TASS/. Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev on Wednesday said about 5 million residents of Donbass, southeastern Ukraine took refuge in Russia as they fled genocide.

"About 5 million residents of Donbass, southeastern Ukraine took refuge in Russia as they fled genocide by the neo-Nazi Kiev regime," he told reporters.

That’s necessitated a review of priorities for government agencies in charge of migration, the official said.

Patrushev said additional measures have been developed to protect Russians that suffered from Russophobia in unfriendly countries.

"Additional measures have been developed to protect our compatriots that have found themselves in dire straits as a result of the rabid Russophobic policy in unfriendly countries," he said.
