Russian, Laotian top diplomats discuss steps to promote bilateral cooperation

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Laotian counterpart Saleumxay Kommasith focused on the promotion of practical cooperation at their talks, as the exchange of views on international issues showed that Moscow and Vientiane have close approaches on key regional and global issues, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement after the two top diplomats’ meeting on Saturday on the sidelines of the 17th East Asia Summit in Phnom Penh.

"They touched upon pressing bilateral issues, including further steps to promote practical cooperation in priority areas. The exchange of views on international issues proved that the two countries have close or the same approaches on key regional and global issues," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
