TOKYO, May 5. /TASS/. The Japanese authorities do not show readiness to restore relations with Russia, but instead take active political and practical steps aimed at continuing the current hostile line, Ambassador to Japan Nikolay Nozdrev told TASS.
"At the moment, not only do we not see such readiness, on the contrary, we observe active political and practical steps of the Japanese government aimed at continuing the current hostile line in line with the so-called all-Western anti-Russian course," he emphasized. The Russian diplomat noted that in concrete terms this is manifested in the fact that "official Tokyo openly declares its desire to exert sanctions pressure on Russia, continues to generously sponsor the Kiev regime, as well as "openly enters into blocs with European countries, which objectively represent a ‘war party’ with Russia."
Nozdrev recalled that Russia has repeatedly indicated that for its part it remains ready to normalize relations and resume mutually beneficial cooperation. "However, this requires a real, backed by practical examples, refusal of hostile steps by Japan. In addition, we consistently urge Tokyo to draw the right lessons from the defeat in World War II, to fully recognize its outcome, as well as to reconsider plans for repeated militarization," he emphasized.
