By attacking Russian energy facility, Kiev wants to disrupt peace initiatives — diplomat

As Maria Zakharova stressed, it is absolutely clear that it was a deliberate, pre-planned provocative action

MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. Ukraine’s latest attack on an energy facility in Russia is aimed at disrupting peace initiatives, including those proposed by US President Donald Trump, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s official spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, said.

In the early hours of March 19, Ukraine committed a deliberate drone attack on an energy site in the southern Russian settlement of Kavkazskaya, she said. As a result, an oil tank was set ablaze, with fire eventually spreading to 1,700 square meters.

"It is absolutely clear that it was a deliberate, pre-planned provocative action, aimed at disrupting peace initiatives, including those put forward by the president of the United States," Zakharova said. "Zelensky once again violated agreements and thus demonstrated his total inability to negotiate."
