KUALA LUMPUR, February 27. /TASS/. Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim have discussed all issues on the agenda, including the nuclear energy sector, the top Russian security official stated.
"Basically, as for the meetings with the prime minister, the defense minister, my colleagues, I can say that decisions have been made on the majority of the issues we expected to discuss," Shoigu told reporters.
He pointed out that the parties had particularly addressed cooperation in the fields of finances and energy. "We paid special attention to the energy industry, namely the nuclear energy sector. Our delegation includes Rosatom officials who are engaged in specific talks with their colleagues. We have achieved certain results in terms of a very important and promising initiative of ours, which has already been put into operation. I’m talking about the floating nuclear power plant in Pevek," the Russian Security Council secretary explained.
According to earlier reports, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu arrived in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur for a working visit. During his trip, he held a series of talks with the country’s top officials, discussing pressing issues. In particular, he met with Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, director general of the National Security Council under the Malaysian prime minister’s office.
