LUGANSK, February 11. /TASS/. Units of the Ukrainian army are purposefully hitting residential houses in Kiev-controlled settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic to blame Russian fighters for the shelling and force people to evacuate, military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS.

According to him, the analysis of data from various sources revealed cases of targeted crimes by Ukrainian troops against civilians, including attempts to discredit the Russian military.

"Thus, on January 15, 2025, servicemen of Ukrainian armed formations carried out artillery shelling of an apartment building at 27 Belyayeva Street in the city of Kramatorsk. The fire strike originated from a Ukrainian-controlled airfield. After the incident, rescue services, the White Angel special police unit, and Ukrainian media operated in the area. They presented photos and videos as evidence of aggression by Russian servicemen and a violation of international law," he said, citing his own sources.

Marochko added that a similar Ukrainian provocation was also recorded in the Krasnoarmeysk direction. In January 2025, Ukrainian troops fired mortars at private houses located on the western outskirts of Mirnograd. "We should mention that the activities of Ukrainian armed formations in the cities of Kramatorsk and Mirnograd are provocative in nature. Their goal is to exert information and psychological pressure on the peaceful citizens of the settlements still under Kiev's control. The Ukrainian government uses these alleged incidents to force civilians to evacuate," the agency source said.
