Final voter turnout in Russian presidential election in LPR stands at 87.12%

Head of the regional election commission Yelena Kravchenko said, that voters were eagerly taking part in the election despite drone attacks

LUGANSK, March 17. /TASS/. Final voter turnout in the Russian presidential election in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) stands at 87.12%, Yelena Kravchenko, head of the regional election commission, told reporters.

"No irregularities were recorded over the three days of voting. [Final] voter turnout is 87.12%," she said.

She added that voters were eagerly taking part in the election despite drone attacks.

Voting in the Russian presidential election is taking place on March 15, 16 and 17, with e-voting available in about one-third of the country’s regions. Polling stations in the LPR closed at 4:00 p.m. Moscow time (1:00 p.m. GMT). Four candidates are vying for the top office, namely Vladislav Davankov (nominated by the New People party), Nikolay Kharitonov (nominated by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, or CPRF), Vladimir Putin (self-nominee), and Leonid Slutsky (nominated by the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, or LDPR).
