MOSCOW, January 15. /TASS/. The Russian Armed Forces have repulsed an attack of Ukrainian troops in the Kupyansk area, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a daily bulletin of the special military operation.
Here are the details of this and other combat actions that happened over the past day, according to the bulletin.
Kupyansk area
"Units of the battlegroup West, using air strikes and artillery fire, repelled an attack by an assault group of Ukrainian army’s 60th mechanized brigade near the village of Sinkovka in the Kharkov Region. In addition, manpower and military equipment concentrated in the areas of Petropavlovka, Berestovoye in the Kharkov Region and Stelmakhovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic were hit," the ministry said.
Ukraine lost up to 20 servicemen, three armored fighting vehicles, three motor vehicles and a Gvozdika self-propeled artillery system.
Krasny Liman area
Russian forces repelled a Ukrainian attack near Chervonaya Dibrova in the Krasny Liman area.
The enemy lost over 160 troops, two armored fighting vehicles, three cars and an Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer as units of Russia’s Battlegroup Center, supported by aviation and artillery firepower, repelled an attack by an assault team of Ukraine’s 63rd mechanized brigade in the Lugansk People’s Republic and hit strongholds of the 5th brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine near the Serebryanka forestry.
Donetsk area
Russian forces struck Ukrainian army units in the Donetsk area, killing and wounding over 200 enemy troops.
"The enemy’s losses amounted to more than 200 personnel, a tank, three infantry fighting vehicles, one armored vehicle, 13 motor vehicles and two Gvozdika motorized artillery systems," the ministry said.
The ministry added that units of the battlegroup South, with the support of aviation and artillery, delivered strikes on enemy’s personnel and hardware near the settlements of Vesyoloye, Razdolovka, Kleshcheyevka, Andreyevka and Kurdyumovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
South Donetsk area
"Units of the battlegroup East, supported by aircraft and artillery fire, have hit units of the 72nd mechanized brigade and 79th air assault brigade of the Ukrainian army near Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The enemy’s losses amounted to more than 140 servicemen, two armored fighting vehicles, four motor vehicles, as well as a Gvozdika motorized artillery system," the ministry said.
Zaporozhye area
"Russian troops supported by artillery inflicted losses on the manpower and materiel of Ukraine’s 65th mechanized brigade and the 3rd and 14th brigades of the National Guard in the areas of Verbovoye, Rabotino and Novopokrovka in the Zaporozhye Region. The enemy lost up to 20 men, two armored fighting vehicles, three other vehicles and a D-30 howitzer," the ministry said.
Kherson area
Systematic fire attacks resulted in Ukrainian losses of up to 40 servicemen, eight motor vehicles, and a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery unit," the ministry said.
"Rocket forces and artillery of Russian battlegroups have struck a base of fuel for Ukrainian military vehicles, 109 artillery units in firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 142 areas," the ministry said.
Air Force and air defenses
Air defenses shot down 25 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Kremennaya, Belogorovka, Krivosheyevka, Nikolayevka and Verkhnekamenka in the Lugansk People’s Republic; Spornoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic; Pshenichnoye in the Zaporozhye Region; and three Tochka-U tactical missiles.
Tally of destroyed equipment
Since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed a total of 567 Ukrainian warplanes, 265 helicopters, 10,689 unmanned aerial vehicles, 450 surface-to-air missile systems, 14,632 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,202 multiple launch rocket systems, 7,736 field artillery guns and mortars and 17,489 special military motor vehicles.
