MOSCOW, July 31. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law banning the use of foreign email addresses when registering on domestic websites.
The document was posted on the official web portal of legal information. According to the law, starting on December 1 of this year, it will not be possible to register on Russian websites requiring user registration and authentication via a foreign email or accounts connected via foreign services like Google or Apple ID.
It will be possible to register on a domestic website using a phone number, a government services web portal, an integrated biometric system, an email address registered with Russian services, and using identifiers on Russian resources.
The measures will go into effect on December 1, 2023.
