UK imposes sanctions against Russian company USM Holdings Limited

Vladimir Yevtushenkov, Andrey Skoch, Medvedchuk, Kerimov and Usmanov were added to the British sanctions list earlier

LONDON, April 12. /TASS/. The UK imposed restrictive measures against the Russian company USM Holdings Limited associated with businessman Alisher Usmanov. This is according to the updated sanctions list published on the website of the British government on Wednesday.

The UK also imposed sanctions against Oksana Marchenko, wife of Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, as well as Natalya Yevtushenkova, wife of Russian businessman Vladimir Yevtushenkov and his children Felix Yevtushenkov and Tatyana Yevtushenkova.

In addition, restrictions that imply a ban on entry into the United Kingdom and the provision of trust services and the freezing of assets in case such assets are found, introduced against the daughter of Senator Suleiman Kerimov, Gulnara Kerimova.

The restrictive measures were also extended to Nariman Gadzhiev, a Russian citizen who resides in Switzerland and is allegedly associated with Kerimov, and to the daughter of State Duma deputy Andrey Skoch - Varvara Skoch.

Vladimir Yevtushenkov, Andrey Skoch, Medvedchuk, Kerimov and Usmanov were added to the British sanctions list earlier.

On Wednesday, the UK also blacklisted the British companies Curzon Square Limited and Hanley Limited, allegedly linked to Usmanov, and the Cypriot firm Meritservus HC Limited, which is allegedly related to sanctioned businessman Roman Abramovich.

According to an announcement on the website of the British government, the anti-Russian sanctions list has been expanded by 11 positions. In addition to the individuals and legal entities mentioned, it also includes two Cypriots - the managing director of Meritservus HC Limited, Demetris Ioannides, and businessman Christodoulos Vassiliades, allegedly associated with Usmanov, who is the head of Sberbank Investments Limited, a Cypriot subsidiary of Sberbank. In total, there are 1,559 individuals and 184 legal entities on the anti-Russian sanctions list. The vast majority of them were put on the list in response to the start of a special military operation in Ukraine.
